How to cite Harpd

Every Harpd dataset is published under CC BY 4.0 and carries a ready-to-paste citation in its own meta.citation field. The strings below are composed from the same registry the endpoints read, so a citation here always resolves to a real URL.

Attribution is the licence condition. Credit “Harpd” and link the canonical dataset URL. That is the whole requirement — redistribution, including commercially, is permitted.

Cite the period, not the page. For a figure that must stay true, cite an immutable snapshot (/data/rank/{YYYY-MM}.json) rather than the live board, which changes under you.

External citations of Harpd

Harpd counts a third-party citation only after fetching the page and confirming it references harpd.com, and excludes its own properties by definition. The verified graph is published at /data/citation-graph.json; when it is empty, that means no verified external citation has been recorded — it is never padded with candidates to look healthier.
