How to cite

Every Harpd dataset is licensed under CC BY 4.0. Attribution requires naming the source, linking the canonical URL and naming the licence.

Use the citation hub to get the exact string for any dataset, or grab a generic citation:

Harpd. "Harpd Product Ranking Data". https://harpd.com/data/ (CC BY 4.0).

For BibTeX:

@misc{harpd:rank,
  title  = {Harpd Product Ranking Data},
  author = {{Harpd}},
  url    = {https://harpd.com/data/},
  note   = {Accessed: <date>. License: CC BY 4.0.}

For different research contexts

Academic research

  • Use the evidence register to verify every claim
  • Cite the dataset, not the website
  • Include the data date — Harpd data updates continuously
  • Methodology is the foundation for any number you quote

Data quality and limitations

  • Rank Points are promotional placement purchased with Credits, not an editorial quality score
  • Harpd does not publish first-party traffic, revenue or review figures for third-party products
  • Benchmark data separates MEASURED from MODELED — a modeled record is an estimate, not a measurement
  • Data updates continuously; always include the data date when citing
  • Every claim is mapped to its evidence chain at /data/evidence.json
