Why it matters
External authority is what turns Harpd's first-party data into something the wider web trusts. A high score would mean independent researchers, developers and publishers reuse Harpd's numbers — the clearest signal that the data is citation-grade, not just self-published.
Limitations
- Only confirmed, human-verified references are counted. Anything unverified scores zero by design — the score understates influence rather than guessing.
- Harpd-owned domains (harpd.com, *.harpd.com, github.com/harpd-dev) are excluded before counting, so internal links never inflate it.
- The score is a snapshot of verification, not reach; a reference that exists but has not been confirmed yet is not included.
