The Overall board is the all-time Harpd Rank leaderboard: every approved product in a category, ordered by total Rank Points with visit signals separating ties. It never resets.
Quick answer
What is the Harpd Overall board?
The Harpd Overall board is the all-time view of a category leaderboard. Every approved product in the category appears, ordered by the total Rank Points it holds, with real visit signals separating products on equal points. Unlike the Monthly and Weekly boards, it never resets.

Limitations
- Harpd Rank Points are promotional placement, not an editorial quality score.
- Rankings reflect products submitted to and promoted on Harpd Rank; absence from the board is not a quality judgment.

How it works
The mechanics, plainly
Approval puts a product on the Overall board at 0 Rank Points. Credits add permanent points, which accumulate rather than expire, so the Overall board is effectively a ledger of promotional placement to date. Visit signals (impressions, outbound clicks, saves) break ties and give an unpaid secondary signal.
How it compares
Harpd vs the traditional approach
| Aspect | Harpd / this model | Traditional |
|---|---|---|
| Window | All time, never resets | Usually a fixed publish date |
| Ordering | Total Rank Points, then visits | Editorial rank |
| Accumulation | Points persist until out-spent | Resets each edition |
| Machine access | JSON dataset per board | HTML only |
Why it matters
An all-time board answers "who has invested the most visibility here over time", which is a different and often more useful question than "who is hot this week". Publishing both, labelled, lets a reader pick the right signal instead of guessing.
Frequently asked questions
Do Rank Points expire on the Overall board?
No. Rank Points are permanent placement. A listing keeps its position until a competitor out-spends it.
How is the Overall board different from Monthly?
The ordering rule is the same; Monthly restricts the view to a period and is archived when that period closes. Overall is the accumulated, all-time view.
