How it works
The mechanics, plainly
Claims are registered once and referenced by the pages that use them. The registry is published at /data/claims.json and rendered, searchable, at /citations/. A claim that cannot be supported is recorded as blocked rather than published silently, so the gap is visible.

Why it matters
A registry turns "trust us" into "check it". It is also what makes automated verification possible: a claim with a machine-readable evidence chain can be re-checked by a script, which is how the site keeps its numbers honest at scale.

How is this different from the evidence register?
They are two views of the same register. /evidence/ presents the evidence chain; /citations/ presents the claims with their citations and status. Both are built from one source, so they cannot disagree.
How do I link to a specific claim?
Every claim has a stable id usable as a deep link, for example /citations/#pricing%3Alist-prices-verified, and the same id appears in /data/claims.json.
Does every sentence on Harpd have a claim entry?
No. The registry covers factual claims. Explanatory prose is governed by the methodology pages, and product descriptions are maker-supplied rather than Harpd claims.
