The mechanics, plainly
A listing is submitted (often by someone other than the maker) → the maker claims it at /rank/manage/ → Harpd checks the ownership evidence → the listing is marked verified. From then on the maker can edit the profile. Verification is independent of Rank Points, category assignment and moderation of the description.
