Harpd Answers · Explained
How does Harpd Trending work?
Trending is Harpd's entirely organic view: it uses recent unique profile activity, clicks and saves in a rolling seven-day window, and uses no Credits and no Rank Points at all.
Quick answer
How does Harpd Trending work?
Harpd Trending is a separate leaderboard that shows which products are earning real recent attention. It is the one view on Harpd with no paid input whatsoever: Credits and Rank Points are excluded by construction, not by policy.

- Harpd Rank Points are promotional placement, not an editorial quality score.
- Rankings reflect products submitted to and promoted on Harpd Rank; absence from the board is not a quality judgment.

How it works
The mechanics, plainly
Profile views, outbound clicks and saves are counted over a rolling seven-day window, deduplicated per visitor, with bot traffic filtered. Products are ordered by that recent activity. Because the window rolls continuously, a product can trend without ever having spent anything.
How it compares
Harpd vs the traditional approach
| Aspect | Harpd / this model | Traditional |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Recent real activity only | Editorial picks |
| Paid influence | None, by construction | Often undisclosed sponsorship |
| Window | Rolling 7 days | Static or monthly |
| What it measures | Attention, not quality | Ambiguous |
Why it matters
Trending is the honest counterweight to a paid board. It gives readers a signal that money cannot buy, and it gives makers a reason to build something people actually click on rather than only something they can afford to promote.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pay to appear in Trending?
No. Trending uses no Credits and no Rank Points. It is computed only from recent real profile activity, clicks and saves.
Why is my product not trending despite visits?
The window is a rolling seven days and activity is deduplicated per visitor with bot traffic filtered. A burst of non-unique or automated traffic will not register.
How is Trending different from the Overall board?
Overall is all-time and ordered by Rank Points; Trending is a seven-day window with no paid input. They answer different questions and routinely disagree, which is the point.
