Harpd Answers · Explained
How do I claim my product listing on Harpd Rank?
Claim the listing at /rank/manage/ by proving control of the product. Once verified you can edit the profile. Verification proves ownership — it does not affect rank position.
Quick answer
How do I claim my product listing on Harpd Rank?
Claiming is how a maker takes control of a Harpd listing that already exists. It is separate from submission: a listing can be created by anyone, but only someone who proves control of the product can edit it.

Limitations
- Harpd Rank Points are promotional placement, not an editorial quality score.
- Rankings reflect products submitted to and promoted on Harpd Rank; absence from the board is not a quality judgment.

How it works
The mechanics, plainly
Find the listing and start the claim at /rank/manage/ → provide evidence that you can act for the product (for example a verified domain, account or repository) → Harpd checks it → the listing is marked verified and the profile becomes editable by you. Rank Points, category and moderation of the description are unaffected.
How it compares
Harpd vs the traditional approach
| Aspect | Harpd / this model | Traditional |
|---|---|---|
| Who can submit | Anyone | Usually the owner only |
| Who can edit | The verified claimant | The submitter |
| Evidence needed | Proof of product control | Varies |
| Effect on rank | None | Often conflated |
Why it matters
Third-party listings are how a directory gets coverage quickly, but they are also how a directory fills with stale descriptions. Allowing anyone to submit while restricting edits to proven owners gets both: coverage without loss of control.
Frequently asked questions
Someone listed my product without asking. What do I do?
Claim it. That is the intended path — submission is open, control requires proof, and claiming is how you take over the profile.
Does claiming cost anything?
No. Claiming and verification are free. Only promotional Rank Points cost Credits, and they are unrelated to ownership.
What counts as proof of control?
Evidence that you can act for the product — typically a domain, account or repository check. Harpd reviews the evidence rather than relying on an assertion.
